AC Installation & Replacement — Right-Sized, Not Upsized
New AC and heat pump installation in Tempe, Chandler, Mesa, Scottsdale and Ahwatukee. Authorized American Standard dealer; also Bryant, Goodman, Day & Night. Load calculation on every job, free estimates, SRP rebates handled.
A replacement is the biggest check most homeowners write to an HVAC company. It's also where the commission model does the most damage — oversized units, mismatched coils, "good-better-best" sheets with no repair option. Here's how we do it instead.
Every install starts with a load calculation
Not "same size as the old one." A Manual J calculation on your actual house — square footage, insulation, windows, orientation, ductwork. Oversized units short-cycle, leave humidity in the air, and wear out from constant starts. Right-sized systems run long on the hottest days by design. That's correct.
What's included
- Manual J load calculation and written proposal, all-in price
- Matched indoor and outdoor equipment (a mismatched coil cuts efficiency and can void the warranty)
- New pad or curb adapter, line set flush or replacement as needed, new disconnect if required
- Proper evacuation, nitrogen purge, factory charge verified
- Airflow tested and balanced, thermostat set up
- City mechanical permit pulled and inspection scheduled
- SRP Cool Cash rebate paperwork filed (up to $225/ton on qualifying systems)
- Manufacturer registration for the full parts warranty
- Old equipment hauled off
Brands
American Standard — authorized dealer. Also Bryant, Goodman, and Day & Night. We'll quote the tier that fits your house and budget, not the one with the biggest spiff. Install quality matters more than the badge; a well-installed 15.2 SEER2 outperforms a badly installed 18 SEER every summer.
Package unit or split?
Usually you keep what you have. Converting costs $3,000–$6,000 in roof, duct and electrical work and rarely pays back — unless you're already re-roofing. Here's the honest comparison.
Rebates and financing
APS ended its equipment rebate in 2026 and the federal 25C credit expired December 31, 2025. SRP Cool Cash is still running. We show every active rebate as a line item on the quote — no phantom credits. Financing available on approved credit. Current rebate details.

Questions people ask
How long does an AC replacement take?+
Most residential changeouts are one day. Rooftop package units are typically a morning with a lift.
Do you pull permits?+
Yes. Every Valley city requires a mechanical permit for a full changeout. We pull it and meet the inspector.
Which is better, American Standard or Goodman?+
Both are solid when installed right. American Standard is the premium tier with a longer warranty; Goodman is the value tier. We'll price both if you want to compare.
Are there rebates on a new AC in 2026?+
SRP customers: yes, Cool Cash, $75–$225 per ton on 15.2+ SEER2 systems. APS customers: no equipment rebate as of January 2026. Manufacturer promotions vary by season.
